HEAD START FACILITY LJA worked closely with the staff of the existing Head Start in St. John, the overall area director, and designated Tribal entities to develop a new facility that would meet the needs of the program. The 4,988 sq. ft. building utilized wood frame construction with standard concrete footing/foundation, slab on grade, steel siding with a split face CMU wainscot, large windows, and wood trusses with an asphalt shingle roof. The facility includes an office, conference room, library, supply storage, commercial kitchen, laundry/mechanical room, two classrooms – one of which also combines with a motor skills room to provide opportunities for larger meetings and parent nights, and necessary toilet facilities with fixtures sized for both adults and small children. |
