BECKER COUNTY COURTHOUSE ADDITION AND REMODEL
DETROIT LAKES, MINNESOTA

LJA assisted Becker County, MN with the preliminary planning and study of their existing Courthouse. After a thorough review of the existing structure, the County awarded the design of the new addition and remodel of 40,000 sq. ft. to LJA. LJA completed all architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering services in-house. The mechanical engineering consisted of new central hot water heating system and central ventilation system consisting of variable air volume with re-heat. Additionally, the dated solid fuel burning boiler and combination fuel oil natural gas boiler was replaced with high efficiency natural gas boilers and a fuel oil back-up of high efficiency.

REST AREA FACILITIES REPLACEMENT
LARIMORE, NORTH DAKOTA

This project involved the design and construction of a rest area that replaced a previously demolished rest area building. In addition to the building design, the project also included a new septic drain field system, upgraded site lighting and improved handicapped accessibility with new walks. The building can operate self-sufficiently in event of a power outage due to a propane- powered generator. The client's concerns included energy efficient design, low maintenance exterior and interior materials, vandal resistance, and attractive design along with rigid budget requirements.

MAPLE LAKE, MINNESOTA

Lightowler Johnson Associates, Inc. assisted the City of Maple Lake with the preliminary planning and design of the Maple Lake City Hall facility. This project included elevation and floor plans options for the new City Hall facility.
